+'Placeholder' Policy

Like any forum, SuperObscura has certain rules and guidlines that must be followed in order for all members to enjoy their time here. These rules have been written up for your own safety, as well as that of your fellow members.

No Spamming. Spamming is the act of unnecessarily posting multiple messages, whether identical or varying. One word/single smiley posts, redundant agreements, and the like are not permitted. While this rule will be laxly enforced in the general discussion boards, it will be strictly enforced in both the debate forum and particularly the RPs. If you can't think of anything more creative than a single line of text, PM another member of the cast and combine posts. One liners and one word posts will be merged, edited, or deleted, at moderator discretion.

No Flaming. Members who are discovered to be unnecessarily harassing, insulting, belittling, threatening, or abusing other members will be punished. Insulting each other in character is acceptable should the nature of the scene call for it, but personal attacks are not permitted. Keep in mind that the definition of flaming depends on the moderator present at the time of the incident. If a member feels that a member of staff is dealing inadequately with flaming, report the incident to the Administrators.

No Multiple Accounts. Each member is allowed one account with which to post on our forums, regardless of the number of characters they have or number of roleplays they are involved in. If a member is found to have created a second account, a combination of bans and/or deletions will take place, as per moderator discretion.

No Sharing of Account Information. You are to post in the account you created upon registration, and no other. Members found to be giving out their own or utilising other members' account information will be punished severely.

No offensive links or images. Please do not post any messages that are obscene, hateful, threatening, racist, sexist, discriminatory, or otherwise violative of any local or international laws - both moral and literal. This includes links in your signature, profile, bookmarks, as well as posted images, photos and avatars. Staff will ultimately decide if something is appropriate or not.

No Warez, CD Keys, Copywritten Material, or Hostile Links. Warez posts are strictly prohibited, excluding discussions concerning abandonware roms and emulation, non-copyright MP3s, and public domain movie trading. Do not post links that redirect to websites that contain malicious code or anything that could damage another user's forum experience. This includes pop-up spammy websites. Such actions will result in permanent IP address bans, no exceptions.

Regarding Adult Content: Regardless of the nature of user-posted content, SuperObscura does not promote the use of illegal drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography, nudity, or any other form of adult content, profanity, hate, "spam," fraud, racism, mlm, pyramid schemes, or promote any illegal activity. To that end, Roleplays containing content with a rating exceeding PG-13 must be clearly marked as such. Failure to comply with this policy will result in removal of said content and immediate banning of the poster.

No Advertising. Please do not post any messages anywhere on this site that are primarily for the promotion or advertising of any website, forum, email address, business, or any other entities that you have an affiliation with. Self-promotion is also prohibited. Such posts will be removed from any forum other than the one designated for their existence (should one be created in the future).

Ignorance of the Law is no excuse for breaking it. Not knowing the Forum Rules is not an acceptable excuse for their violation. You have been warned. The above rules and guidelines may be subject to change without consultation, warning, or notice. Upon modification of any rule, the User has one week (7 days) to contact the administration and request the deletion of their account, or it will constitute acceptance of the modifications.
